On the morning of May 29, 2023, Professor Jafu, Chair Professor of Supply Chain Management and Director of the Center for Business, Nature, and Value Research at the University of York, UK, was invited by the School of Management to deliver a fascinating academic lecture titled "How to Publish Academic Papers in High-level Journals" for our faculty members. The lecture took place in Room 536 of the School of Management and was chaired by Professor Wu Jinhong, the Dean of the School of Management.
During the meeting, Professor Jafu shared his academic experience, focusing on his significant contributions to empirical research in sustainable supply chain management. He also discussed his role as an associate editor for various international journals including the International Journal of Operations and Production Management (ABS four-star rating), Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management (SCI), and International Food and Agribusiness Management Review (SCI). He provided insights into the submission requirements, manuscript processing procedures, and important considerations for publishing in high-level SCI journals in the field of management.
In the subsequent interactive session, Professor Yu Niu, the head of the Department of Logistics Management, introduced the basic situation of our department to Professor Jafu. He provided an overview of the research directions and achievements of the relevant faculty members and expressed the expectation for future academic collaboration with Professor Jafu. Vice Dean Wu Jinfeng, Associate Professor Cai Xueyuan, Ma Xiaogang, as well as Doctor Zhang Wenfen and Jing Hao engaged in a lively discussion with Professor Jafu on topics such as research paradigms, submission processes, topic selection, and case study methods in the field of logistics and supply chain. Professor Jafu provided detailed answers, greatly benefiting everyone involved.
Lastly, Dean Wu Jinhong once again expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the School to Professor Jafu for his long journey. He hoped that today's lecture would bring a fresh research perspective to our faculty's academic studies and provide valuable references and insights into research methods and approaches. The lecture concluded successfully amidst enthusiastic applause.
